Part of the LED striplight inside broken elements of a T8 (1 inch diameter) LED tube light. In comparison with the standard T8 fluorescent tube it has advantages in that it is more eco-friendly, energy-saving with low power consumption. Also it can be recycled as it is designed with non-hazardous materials that are free from lead, mercury and other toxic components. The LEDs contain some metals worth recycling, such as indium, gallium or a rare-earth element. The application of surface mounted diode (SMD) technology increases the energy efficiency with higher lumen output and lower energy consumption. Finally, LED tube lights have a longer lifespan therefore reducing the frequency of tube disposal. | |
