Pterosaur flying reptiles, illustration. Pterosaurs were carnivorous predators, feeding on fish and other small animals. They flew with wings formed from a membranous structure stretched between the ankles and a lengthened finger. These pterosaurs are Rhamphorhynchus (right) and Pterodactylus (left). Both lived in what is now Europe during the Late Triassic Period (237-201 million years ago). | |
