Slender mongoose (Galerella sanguinea) foraging on a termite mound. This small predator is vulnerable to large raptors when foraging in the open. The Slender mongoose is found throughout sub-Saharan Africa. It is primarily carnivorous and insects make up the bulk of its diet. The slender mongoose will also feed on fruit, eggs, carrion and small animals, such as lizards and rodents, when they become available. Photographed in Etosha national park, Namibia. | |
