Fishtraps 'visvyvers' constructed by local people for hundreds of years and still used today. The traps which are maintained by local people are protected by the South African Heritage Resources Agency. Struis Point Navigational Beacon was built in 1871 due to the number of ships striking Saxon Reef just off Struis Point. It is of historical importance as it is the only known one of its kind ever erected.
