Camera trap mounted on the ball and socket head of a monopod stake alongside an English chalk stream. In this case the digital camera is set up to capture the presence and behaviour of an otter in particular and any other local wildlife. Camera traps, also known as trail cameras, can record very accurate data on wildlife without disturbance from humans. This camouflaged 6 volt battery-powered camera is capable of still photographs and/or video records day or night. The three motion sensors on the front trigger the camera after sensing movement or a heat signature. Daylight photographs recorded on the SD memory card are in colour, at night they are b/w monochrome taken by the infra red led flash which is not detected by humans and wildlife. It has a time-lapse facility and can serve as a motion triggered security camera for home or office. | |
