Hazard map of Jezero Crater, Mars, taken by the Terrain-Relative Navigation technology on the Perseverance rover as it approached the planet's surface. This map helped the rover to find a safe landing spot. Blue areas are considered safe, while red areas are considered dangerous. The rover's landing spot is marked with a green dot. Perseverance was carried to Mars aboard the Mars 2020 spacecraft, which launched from Earth on 30th July 2020. The rover will study the geology of Mars and search for signs of life.
