Mars 2020 Mission Control team watching the first images come in from the the Perseverance rover, after its successful landing on the surface of Mars on 18th February 2021. The rover was carried to Mars aboard the Mars 2020 spacecraft, which launched from Earth on 30th July 2020. Perseverance will study the geology of Mars and search for signs of life.
