Apollo 13 command module parachuting to the sea for recovery after its lunar mission, which launched on 11 April 1970. However, an oxygen tank failure aboard caused the lunar landing to be aborted and instead the spacecraft passed around the moon. Aboard were astronauts James Lovell, John Swigert and Fred Haise. The astronauts returned safely to Earth on 17 April 1970, landing in the South Pacific Ocean. | |
