The Purplish Treefrog (Boana nympha) has a common name that stems from the vaguely purple color some individuals have at night. Most specimens bear a distinctive X across the back. These are agile treefrogs that can clear an impressive distance with a single leap. They feed on small invertebrates and are active at night. This specimen was photographed in Amazonian Peru in 2017. | |
