The Sarayacu Treefrog (Dendropsophus sarayacuensis) is part of a complex of brightly colored, small amphibians collectively ranging from Central America south through the Amazon Basin. This species has decidedly different night and daytime colorations. When handled, they can also emit an herbal smell, presumably from some kind of a defensive skin secretion. This individual was photographed in the Amazon Basin of Peru, 2019. | |
