Amazon Thornytails (Uracentron flaviceps) live in family groups high in the rainforest canopy. While not uncommon, seeing one is often difficult from the perspective of a forest trail. These were photographed from the ACA canopy walkway in Loreto, Peru. Watching these extraordinary lizards as they bask and chase ants is one of the many pleasures of being in the treetops. | |
