Mesopelagic copepods are crustaceans. Some species are bioluminescent. They can be found at depths exceeding 1000m (3000 feet). Adults migrate daily from deep waters to shallower waters at night to feed. This specimen was trawled from between the surface and 200 meters depth in the Florida Straits, July 2017. | |
