Four proboscis bats (Rhynchonycteris naso) roosting on the side of a large tree leaning over a rain forest river in Belize. These tiny bats' markings blend well with surrounding lichens, helping them avoid detection by predators. They feed on small insects. No other New World bat has similar tufts on its forearm. | |
