Aerial shot of Ulong island complex, Palau. Ulong island in Palau was once inhabited and was also where the first English ship, The Antelope, was wrecked in 1783. The captain Henry Wilson befriended the native Palauans who helped build another ship so the crew could return to England. The High Chief's son Lee Boo went with them but later died of small pox and is now buried in London. The island is no longer inhabited but many archaeological artefacts still remain. It is also used by nesting turtles and Micronesian Megaspores. | |
