Time-lapse image of the full Moon rising. The faint shadow on the lunar surface at bottom left is due to a penumbral lunar eclipse as the Moon passes through the faint outer shadow of the Earth. The pink band across top is the anti-twilight arch or Belt of Venus, and is caused by backscattering of refracted sunlight due to fine dust particles high in the atmosphere.
