Send Your Name to Mars plaque on Perseverance, the Mars 2020 rover. Three fingernail-sized chips affixed to the upper-left corner of the plaque feature the names of 10, 932, 295 people who participated in the campaign. They were individually stenciled onto the chips by electron beam, along with the essays of the 155 finalists in NASA's Name the Rover contest. The Mars 2020 mission, part of NASA'S Mars Exploration Program, launched on 30th July 2020. It carried the Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter. The rover will search for habitable conditions in the ancient past and signs of past microbial life on Mars. The helicopter will test the first powered flight on Mars.
