Perovskite crystal structure, illustration. Perovskite is a mineral form of calcium titanate, with the chemical formula CaTiO3. Each unit cell is centred on the calcium ion (blue sphere, 2+ cation). The other atoms are titanium and oxygen. The pseudocubic crystals crystallize in the orthorhombic system. Physical properties include superconductivity, magneto-resistance, ionic conductivity, and dielectric properties. This makes perovskite of great importance in microelectronics and telecommunications. | |
