Teratornis prehistoric birds of prey, illustration. These large birds had a wingspan of up to 3.8 metres and weighed around 15 kilograms. They are thought to have hunted small animals as well as feeding on carrion. Teratornis was found in what is now North America during the Late Pleistocene (129, 000-11, 700 years ago). | |
