Aegyptopithecus prehistoric primate, illustration. This extinct animal lived in what is now Egypt around 38 million years ago during the early Oligocene. This was before apes had diverged from Old World Monkeys. It was around 56-92 centimetres longs and weighed around 6 kilograms. It was most likely an arboreal (tree-dwelling) frugivore. | |
