Antimonite, also known as Stibnite, is a sulphide of Antimony (Sb2S3). In nature it often occurs as grey, prismatic to needle-like crystals that often come in a radial arrangement. The crystalline system is orthorhombic. It is the chief ore of antimony that is used in a wide variety of alloys, especially with lead in battery plates, and in the manufacture of flameproofing compounds, paint, semiconductor devices, and ceramic products. | |
