Sacred ibis (Threskiornis aethiopicus) bathing. This carnivorous bird probes for small animals in wetlands, grassland and fields. It also eats offal and carrion, and so sometimes feeds in rubbish dumps. The sacred ibis lives throughout much of Africa south of the Sahara Desert. Photographed in the Zimanga private game reserve in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. | |
