Larsen C iceberg, 2017 and 2018, satellite images. This huge iceberg (A-68) split from the Larsen C ice shelf at the end of July 2017. Since then, the iceberg has moved from the edge of the ice shelf. It has an area of around 6, 000 square kilometres, more than 10 percent of the area of the ice shelf. The iceberg split further soon after calving. Images obtained by the TerraSAR-X satellite on 2 August 2017 (left) and 14 December 2018 (right). | |
