Interacting galaxies NGC 5426 and NGC 5427, VIMOS image. These two interacting spiral galaxies form a structure known as Arp 271. They are 110 million light years from Earth, in the constellation of Virgo. This optical image (published in 2018) was obtained with the Visible Multi-Object Spectrograph (VIMOS) instrument on ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT). | |
