Kayser-Fleischer rings in eyes due to liver disease. Eyes of a 62-year-old woman with Kayser-Fleischer rings (KF rings) and yellowing skin and eyes due to liver disease. KF rings are dark rings that appear to encircle the iris of the eye. They are due to copper deposition in part of the cornea (Descemet's membrane) as a result of impaired liver function.
