Milford Sound landscape in the morning, with stratocumulus clouds overhead. This cloud type consists of large rounded masses that form lines, or waves. It usually forms below 2000 metres in altitude. Milford Sound is one of several fjords in the south-west of New Zealand's South island. Towering vegetation-covered peaks rise from the water, in a landscape created by glaciation. Milford Sound is one of New Zealand's major tourist attractions. Photographed on a spring morning in November. | |
