A museum grade mock-up of the interior of the Apollo Lunar Module on display in the Apollo/Saturn V Center at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida, USA. Designed for a crew of two, the controls were used by the pilot to descend from lunar orbit to the Moon's surface, and ascend again to rejoin the third Apollo crew member in the command and service module for the journey home. The view out of the cockpit windows is the famous Earthrise view of the Earth seen from the Moon. The square hatch at the bottom is the egress hatch onto the platform at the top of the ladder to the lunar surface. | |
