Frank Butler and daughter on a 6hp Panhard, 1900. Butler won a silver medal in the 1000 Miles Trial, in recognition of his having successfully completed the trial, for having accompanied his vehicle throughout, and for having driven and steered for at least half the distance. The 1000 Miles Trial was arranged in order to attempt to dispel some of the animosity that surrounded the new invention the car. | |
