Making Nylon 6-10. Two solutions are added to a beaker to form separate layers, 1, 6-hexanediamine (bottom) and sebacyl chloride/hexane (top). A film of synthetic polymer Nylon 6-10 is formed at the interface of the two solutions. The film is snagged and slowly pulled out from the beaker to form a long strand. Continuous strand of Nylon is then wrapped around the tweezers. | |
