Altocumulus stratiformis clouds in summer. Altocumulus clouds occur at middle altitudes (2400-6000 metres). There are several types of altocumulus clouds. Altocumulus stratiformis typically forms sheets and is associated with fair weather. This undulating wave-like pattern is due to winds above and below the cloud layer.
