Red hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus caama) at a water hole. Red hartebeests live in open forests and grasslands and feed mainly upon grass. Their name derives from the distinctive heart shape formed by the curve of their horns when viewed from the front. Photographed in the Kalahari regions of South Africa and Botswana. | |
