HELIOS solar telescope La Silla Observatory. HELIOS solar telescope (centre left) attached to the catwalk of European Southern Observatory's (ESO) 3.6-metre telescope at La Silla Observatory, Chile, at sunset. HELIOS was installed in April 2018 to feed sunlight via fibre optics to the HARPS (High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher) spectrograph at La Silla. The dome of the decommissioned Coude Auxiliary Telescope (CAT) can also be seen (right).
