A 1940's Voigt domestic corner horn enclosed in a wooden cabinet on display at the museum on Carnforth railway station in Carnforth, Lancashire, England. The horn was designed in 1934 by Paul Voigt, an audio and loudspeaker pioneer with 30 patents in the field of sound reproduction. The speaker has a single full-range driver at the base, coupled to the specially shaped cabinet aperture by a Tractrix horn (patented by Voigt in 1927). | |
