Lava fountain during Kilauea eruption, 1969. This fountain lasted a little over 9 hours and reached a maximum height of 220 metres during the Mauna Ulu eruption. Mauna Ulu is in the eastern rift zone of the Kilauea volcano on the island of Hawaii. It is the most active of the volcanoes on Hawaii. Photographed on 25 June 1969. | |
