Osteoma swelling in ear canal, otoscope view. These bony swellings are properly called exostoses and are usually a response to repeated irrigation with cold water. Hence they are also known as swimmer's osteoma. They usually cause few problems unless they become so large that the deep ear canal skin cannot migrate outwards and accumulates in the ear. | |
