Ringed seal (Pusa hispida) mother and pup. This seal inhabits Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. It feeds on small fish and invertebrates, diving along and under sea ice. Females give birth to a single pup in spring, with the pup eating solid food from the age of around one month. Photographed in the spring in Norway's Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic. | |
