The European Union Energy label must be displayed on all domestic appliances, light bulbs, air conditioners and televisions for sale in the European Union. The label ( right) has higher standard efficiency ratings than its predecessor ( left ) and re-designed additionally useful information. The label is a guide for consumers so that they can compare similar products for efficiency and performance including noise level. It makes like for like comparison a bit easier as all manufacturers have to provide the same information. Because of changes to the way efficiency was calculated for each type of machine after 2010 two labels for the same product would show different results but generally speaking efficiency has improved so that most labels now start at D and A+++, A++ and A+ have been added to accommodate higher standards. | |
