Apollo 12 astronaut setting up instruments for the ALSEP (Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package) experiments on the surface of the Moon. The instruments were left on the Moon and transmitted their data back to Earth. Apollo 12 was the second manned mission to land on the Moon, arriving in the Ocean of Storms on the 19th November 1969. Astronauts Charles Conrad and Alan Bean made two excursions on the surface for a total of 7 hours 45 minutes. | |
