Titan's lakes. Cassini spacecraft radar image of lakes (blue) and empty depressions (grey) on the surface of Saturn's largest moon Titan. The lakes are filled with the hydrocarbons methane and ethane, which are liquid at the very cold temperatures (roughly -180 degrees Celsius) found on Titan's surface. The shallow lakes are filled by rainfall and underground feeds. | |
