Close-up of the chest of a 34 year old male patient who has had surgery to remove a dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) tumour. DFSP is a rare malignant (cancerous) tumour of the dermis (middle layer) of the skin. It is a slow-growing tumour that rarely spreads beyond the skin. Treatment is with surgical removal, although it often reoccurs.
