Horns of Torres del Paine. These mountain peaks are part of the Torres del Paine National Park, Chile, part of the South American region of Patagonia. Known as the Cuernos del Paine (the Horns of Paine), these peaks have central bands of exposed granite (lighter colour). This contrasts with the darker peak rocks, which are the remnants of a heavily eroded sedimentary stratum. Photographed in September. | |
