Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of an unused coping saw blade. Coping saws are used to cut intricate shapes or curved lines. The blade, held between a U-shaped frame, is easily removed to allow it to be thread through a drilled hole. When reattached to the frame, the saw can be used to cut a shape in the middle of the wood. Magnification: x100 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres. | |
