Northern goshawk (Accipiter gentilis) in flight during its autumn migration. This bird of prey inhabits forests and forest edges throughout the northern hemisphere. Populations in the northern parts of this range migrate south for the winter. It feeds primarily on other birds,which it catches in flight. It also feeds on mammals such as rabbits.
