Blue ridge spring salamander (Gyrinophilus porphyriticus danielsi). This salamander inhabits cool springs,streams and brooks on the east coast of North America. It can grow to around 20 centimetres in length. The spring salamander feeds at night on other salamanders,large insects and worms. During the day it hides under wet logs,stones or in leaf litter.
