The surface of Titan,Saturn's largest moon. This is a stereographic (fish-eye) projection taken with the descent imager/spectral radiometer onboard the European Space Agency's Huygens probe, when the probe was about 5 kilometers (3 miles) above Titan's surface. The images were taken on Jan. 14,2005. The Huygens probe was delivered to Saturn's moon Titan by the Cassini spacecraft, which is managed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory,Pasadena,California. NASA supplied two instruments on the probe, the descent imager/spectral radiometer and the gas chromatograph mass spectrometer | |
