Cut finger (image 4 of 5). Close-up of a cut healing on the knuckle of a finger one week after the cut. The skin was cut along with some small blood vessels. The new skin has grown over the edges of the cut,and the skin is continuous in the area again. All that remains of the cut is a scab of connective tissue which covers the new skin, and ensures it grows without any infective agents present. For this cut 5 minutes, one hour and two days after the event, see images M330/702,M330/703 and M330/704 respectively. For the same cut healed after another week, see M330/706 | |
