Schneekoppe summit observatory. Early 20th-century photochrom (photographic lithograph) of the summit of the Schneekoppe mountain (also called Sniezka or Snezka),at the time on the border between the Prussian province of Silesia and Bohemia. At 1603 metres in elevation,it is the highest point in the Sudetes or Sudeten mountains. The buildings include a meteorological observatory (upper right) that was built in around 1900. Other buildings include the Chapel of Saint Lawrence and hostels on the Prussian and Bohemian sides of the border. This is now the border between Poland and the Czech Republic.
