Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of staphylococcus saccharolyticus (0.6-1.0 micrometers in diameter). This is a strictly anaerobic gram-positive,coagulase-positive member of the bacterial genus Staphylococcus,it's non-motile,does not produce spores,and forms white to grey colonies. The optimum growth temperature is 37 C (it does not grow at 15 C),it is sensitive to novobiocin and lysostaphin,and found in human blood and on the skin. Image width: 9.14 micrometers.
