Truncate-snouted burrowing frogs (Glyphoglossus molossus) normally live underground (fossorial) but after the first heavy rain at the end of the dry season they appear in large numbers in their nuptial ponds where they puff up,call and mate. In this image the frogs are in remnant pools in a dry river bed,Phnom Prich Wildlife Sanctuary,Mondulkiri,Cambodia. Being a popular edible frog species has resulted in their IUCN status of Near Threatened
