Wildebeest. Herd of blue wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus),or brindled gnu. These animals inhabit the plains and woodlands of south-eastern Africa,grazing on fresh grass. They are social animals,living in herds numbering several thousands of individuals,especially when migrating great distances to reach fresh pasture. Both sexes grow short curved horns.
