Little owl (Athene noctua) perched on a window sill. This owl is native to the warmer parts of Europe,Asia and North Africa. It was introduced to Great Britain in the 19th century and is now naturalised there. It is a very small owl,between 23 and 27.5 centimetres in length and feeds on insects,earthworms and amphibians.
